Handbell Ensemble

Last semester marked the beginning of a brand new music ensemble at Xavier University: Handbell Ensemble! Created and directed by Jan Corrothers, this is a group of 10-12 students who create music with bells. They learn and perform many different styles of music in concert, whether that be alone or in conjunction with campus or community musical ensembles. Prior experience with handbells is not required to join, and it is an awesome, unique opportunity to take advantage of.

They are currently accepting new members for the Spring 2016 semester. If you are interested, please contact Jan Corrothers at corrothersj@xavier.edu.

Christmas at Xavier

Xavier Music Department is putting on a huge Christmas show this weekend. There are two showings, so there are plenty of viewing opportunities.

It will feature music by Edgecliff Vocal Ensemble, Concert Choir, Women’s Chorus, and Men’s Chorus, as well as readings and instrumentalists. The music focuses on the celebration of the season, and remembering the true meaning of the holidays.

The first show is Friday, December 11 at 8pm, and the second one is Sunday, December 13 at 3pm. They are both in Gallagher Theater, located in the Student Center.
